The North Huish Parish Council and Cllr Geoff Date have expressed concerned at the proposed closure of the Avonwick Post Office. Cllr Geoff Date has written to the Post Office askling them to reconsider. We have now heard that the services are to cease. Cllr Date will be talking to colleagues at County Hall to see if there is any other action available.

BOUNDARY COMMISSION
Following the publication of the Boundary Commissions first thoughts, Cllr
Geoff Date stated “ I support the Boundary Commission’s main recommendation for a Unitary Devon. My reasons for this are that I would hate to see the Education Service, Social Services and Highways split into 4 unitarys, with 4 Chief Executives, 4 Directors of Education, etc. Also I like the idea of 29? Neighbourhood Boards, with Budgets of around £200,000. These boards would include parish councillors.
